Anathema is nooit mijn ding geweest. Blackfield heeft wat leuke dingen maar ook erg veel meuk.

Dit nodigt me dus niet uit te gaan luisteren.

Ja en nee. Ik ben het eens met je referenties. Inderdaad geen progrock in de zin van Genesis/King Crimson etc. maar een Distant Satellites van Anathema, recentere werk van Katatonia en War of Roses van Ulver worden doorgaans toch óók prog genoemd? En In Absentia van PT vind ik ook niet écht prog in de ouderwetse betekenis. Dat is vooral toch redelijk standaard rockstramien.

Daar heb je zeker gelijk. Ik dacht dat Liminal Sky niet jou ding was omdat je de verwachting had dat het meer in de richting lag van King Crimson zeg maar. Dat had ik dan verkeer begrepen.

Tsja, de emotie in dat Liminal Sky album spreekt me heel erg aan. Afgezien van het genre. Dat kan ik niet verklaren

Wonderlijk eerste volledige album van Unkindness, altijd al één van mijn favoriete Wergild-projecten. Dit gaat hoog eindigen in de jaarlijst, wat een avontuurlijke release alweer - post-punk, ambient, black metal - en dat allemaal in een alsnog catchy en coherente mix.
